About Jones Coffee Roasters
Roasted Locally, Sought Globally
Our roastery was established by Chuck and Larry Jones in 1994. As the retail/café side of the business grew, so did the need for seating. When we exceeded the City’s specified seating limit, die-hard customers began bringing in their own “talking chairs” to assure they’d have a place to sit and talk with friends the next time they came in. The Jones Coffee Roasters logo is inspired by this act of community building.
Located at 693 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105, Jones Coffee Roasters operates as a coffee shop serving Pasadena in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as cafe, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 7 am–5 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (626) 564-9291. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is jonescoffeeroasters.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Pasadena is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pasadena follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is my Saturday morning Go to cafe. The live jazz and the relaxed atmosphere is a total vibe. No wifi as they encourage disconnecting, but you are free to work off a hot spot. Came in one day and did research on my laptop with my own hotspot and have also read, written cards to friends and simply had coffee while I listened to the live band.

It's getting harder to find great coffee in LA, but for now, Jones has me covered! The flavor of their espresso is spot on, and their latte drinks were mixed perfectly. The interior has a great vibe, and turns into a wine bar later in the night. Price was decent too for the area.

If you're looking for an authentic Pasadena caffeine fix, this is the spot. Located in a charming, industrial-chic space on Raymond, Jones Coffee Roasters manages to feel like a community hub and a serious roastery all at once. What to expect: The Coffee: It’s punchy, fresh, and roasted right here. Their lattes are consistently smooth, and if you’re a fan of a traditional macchiato or a pour-over, they really know their beans. The Vibe: It has that perfect "working warehouse" aesthetic. It’s a great place to sit with a laptop or meet up with a friend, though it can get pretty buzzing on the weekends. The Service: The baristas are efficient and clearly passionate about the craft. Even when there's a line out the door, the wait moves fast. Whether you're grabbing a bag of whole beans to go or staying for the atmosphere, Jones is a local staple for a reason. Highly recommend the flat white! Parking can be a bit of a hunt on Raymond, so give yourself an extra five minutes to find a spot nearby!

Cool spot. Amazing ambiance. Very tasteful and eclectic interior decorations. Flavorful coffees, wine, and much more. A true social place built for organic engagements, interactions, and connections. Loved the concept. And Raffi, the coffee development director, was truly authentic, open, friendly, and inspiring. He can answer all your questions, show the magic secrets of their coffee, and inspire.

I used to rotate between Jameson Brown whenever I ran out of beans, but now I’ve fully settled on Jones. Before regularly supporting local roasters, I subscribed to Stumptown, and honestly, in terms of flavor and freshness, Jones is in no way inferior to Stumptown. One thing I especially love is their reward system. Instead of a typical points-based program, they give you a free cup of coffee when you buy a bag of beans and that simple gesture brings a different kind of joy. My personal favorites are the Pasadena Blend, Madison Blend, and Bourbon Rojo. Each has its own character, and they never disappoint.
